I'm confused about many things about oracle products so looking for help from you.

I downloaded from Oracle 9i Database Enterprise 9.2.0.1 (2 CDs) and Database Client (1cd). Now I was looking for 9i Application Server release 2 but on oracle site I found only Oracle Application Server 10g Release 2 (10.1.2.0.0).

Works Oracle Application Server 10g Release 2 and Oracle 9i Database release 2 together as well as Oracle 9iAS and Oracle 9i Database?

In Oracle 9i Database installation there is Oracle 9iAS too?

I'm going to running Oracle on windows 2000 and deploiment a web interface to search and read data from oracle Database what component other than Oracle 9i Database and 9i Client should i download from Oracle web site?

I found in Application Server page 18 components (!!!!!) and I have no idea about their functiones.

Thank you in advance ....

1.) 10g Application Server version is 9.0.4. It is an upgrade to 9.0.2 not a new product. They are both Apache based. 10gAS will connect to 9i database. 9.0.3 is a different product.
http://www.oracle.com/technology/software/products/ias/devuse_9ias_r2.html
2.) 9i database comes with it's own Apache server (OHS = Oracle HTTP Server)which is a trimmed down version of 9i/10g Application server.
3.) The Application Server is quite a monster. If you only want to create PL/SQL web pages (using mod_plsql module for Apache), then all you need is the OHS which comes with the database. OHS has admin pages similar to 9i/10gAS for creating the DAD (database access descriptor).

Thank you andrew for your answers.

Could i do to you another question?
You told 9.0.3 is a different product.

I checked
http://www.oracle.com/technology/software/products/ias/devuse_9ias_r2.html and i seen that Oracle9iAS Java Edition is v9.0.3 and Oracle9iAS Enterprise Edition is (9.0.3 and 9.0.2.x) !!!

What kind of products are they?

What difference between Oracle9iAS Java Edition v9.0.3 or Oracle9iAS Enterprise Edition (9.0.3 and 9.0.2.x) and 10g Application Server version is 9.0.4 Apache based?

Thank you in advance andrew

From the docs: http://download-west.oracle.com/docs/cd/A97688_16/index.htm

"Oracle9iAS Release 2 (9.0.3) is the fully compliant J2EE 1.3 release of Oracle9iAS. You can use this release to build and deploy applications that take advantage of the latest J2EE 1.3 features. It contains only the J2EE and Web Cache components of Oracle9iAS and is compatible with 9.0.2 infrastructures for clustering, management, and security. It can also coexist with any 9.0.2 installation."

From what I recall, Oracle9iAS Enterprise Edition (9.0.3 and 9.0.2.x) is just the s/w pack which includes both 9.0.2 and 9.0.3 (becuase they are different packagings. 9.0.3 isn't an upgrade of 9.0.2).

9.0.1 --> 9.0.4(10g) are all Apache based.
